I want to stay near Disney in Oct with my 18mt boy- IS this hurricane season,should I worry? Any condos near?

I”d like a vacation package with air from Canada to Orlando and stay near Disney somewhere with a kitchenette. Should I also rent a car?
My son will be 21 mts by then- I am trying to find SOMETHING fun for us to do as a vacation geared to toddlers- there doesn;t seem to be much out there- Any ideas?

While the season officially goes through November, it peaks in August and September and really declines over the course of October.
Hurricanes are rare to start with, and don’t typically affect Orlando as badly as they do the coasts–you get wind, rain, thunderstorms, sometimes tornados, but not the destruction you see when it comes ashore on a coast.
It is rare for a hurricane to ruin a vacation. That said, the later in Ocotber you go, the less chance it will affect you.

If you’re staying off Disney property then rent a car, but know that you can’t rent a car until you’re 21.
I’ve gone to Disney in October many times and have never had any problems with hurricaines, the weather is beautiful in October.
… Orlando is a 45 minute drive from the closest beach.
You have absolutely nothing to worry about from hurricanes.
Hurricane season ends in November.
Tips for Orlando: It rains at about 4:00 every day, if it’s raining too hard, don’t freak out, it’ll stop in a few minutes.
There are a bunch of cheap hotels on Anaheim Drive which is by Disney, you can also stay IN Disney at a couple of very nice hotels.
I would recommend renting a car, just to have the convenience of not relying on anyone, but the gas is incredibly expensive
If you end up staying IN Disney, you don’t need a car.
Hopefully you are not taking just an 18mt old to Disneyworld – That would be such a waste of money and more work than fun for you.
Wait until he is at least 3 or maybe 4 or 5 to really get your moneys worth. By then he could actually ride most of the rides and really interact with you. No diapers,diaper bags, afternoon naps or stollers too!

October is a great time to go! The temperature is down from summertime, but still warm enough for shorts and to swim at the pools.

If you’re staying off Disney property, then a rental car is an absolute must! You’ll also want to get a good map so you’ll be able to find things ok.
try fort wilderness campgrounds. They have little log cabins with kitchens…..if you stay at a disney hotel you will not need a car transportation is provided and very efficient. Your son will have a blast you will tear up when you see how magical everything is and how amazed and happy it makes him
