Just a big Helicopter

By the Kelowna airport this big helicopter came in to land and as I was watching it through the cameras view finder, I thought I was seeing things. It’s a weird sensation to see it slowly moving side ways.

Its a sikorsky s-61N, and it is the same helicopter that the president uses. Its obviously different from this 61 but the powerplants and gearbox are identical. The military version is Sea King, they use them for maritime patrol. Those “sponsons” on the side are for emergency water landings. They also have an L version (Land) that they use for heavy lift. They attach different landing gear to drop weight and use the helicopter for such things as firefighting, logging, and construction.
