We love to try new things, so it was a natural that Cindy would try the chocalho – very large shaker. Not all that easy to do. But it’s fun trying.

Samba dance/music have many forms. There is the energetic samba “enredo” (the carnival samba), the batucada, the softer guitar and rhythm of Bossa Nova, more of a jazz samba, the Afro-Brazilian faster rhythm Candomble, where Samba means to invoke your personal orixa (god). African rhythms heavily influenced Brazilian music. Batucada is a style of samba and refers to an African influenced Brazilian percussive style, performed by an ensemble and characterized by its repetitive style and fast pace

P.S.: it always puzzles me how some people with brand new youtube login names, with weird meanings, and who have not watched a considerable big number of videos on youtube, can find some “specific” videos to target with their negative comments.

We need you guys for our samba class…
Back in college students majoring in music would come play for us during our Ballet and Modern lessons, mainly piano. It was too cool.
The Ballet instructor would hum a count and the piano player would give us music to practice to.
